Printable 7×7 Gorbov-Schulte table (PDF) - red-black
PDF · 10 tables · A4
The red-black board for attention-switching training: black numbers ascending, red numbers descending, alternating. A set of 10 tables in the canonical 7×7 format.
Who it is for and how to practise
The Gorbov-Schulte table is a different exercise from the classic grid: you point to the 24 black numbers ascending (1, 2, 3...) and the 25 red numbers descending (25, 24, 23...), alternating - black 1, red 25, black 2, red 24. It trains attention switching, the thing that fails first under fatigue, and has been used in aptitude testing of pilots and drivers.
Master the classic 5×5 before reaching for this board; first times of 3-4 minutes are normal. Note the number of mistakes as well - with the Gorbov table it is a more telling measure than time alone. Two or three tables per session are plenty.
